It's hard to believe it's been just over twenty years since the Kids in the Hall's beloved cult classic "Brain Candy" came to theaters, acquainting fans with now-famous characters like Marv and Alice, Chris and Don, and Wally Terzinsky with his wonderfully on-the-nose musical number, "I'm Gay." This year at SF Sketchfest, the Kids in the Hall bring a rare, very special staged reading of the seminal film, accompanied by narration, music and the occasional video clip! $45

Back in the days before live-tweeting, the only way to express your thoughts while watching a movie was to yell them out loud to the delight of your friends, and the disgust of the old people two rows in front of you. Wyatt Cenac and Donwill invite you to join them as they recreate the magic of Magic Johnson theaters and guide you Mystery Science Theater 3000-style through the wonderful world of blaxploitation and black cult cinema. Wyatt and Donwill will screen a fine specimen from yesteryear, egging you on from the peanut gallery as the non-foam Statler and Waldorf. $25

Comedian Doug Benson (“Super High Me,” “Last Comic Standing,” and the Doug Loves Movies podcast) and mystery comedy guests sit in the front row of the theater and say whatever silly stuff pops into their heads. $20

SF Sketchfest is thrilled to celebrate the 40th anniversary of "The Kentucky Fried Movie," the mother of all sketch comedy anthology films. Written by a Wisconsin-based comedy trio known as Kentucky Fried Theater (Jim Abrahams, David Zucker and Jerry Zucker) and directed by comedy filmmaking icon John Landis, the groundbreaking film has achieved cult classic status. Zucker, Abrahams & Zucker went on to create the classic comedies "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun!" and Landis went on to direct "National Lampoon's Animal House," "The Blues Brothers," "Clue," "Three Amigos!" and many more. This rare reunion of four incredible comedy legends is a must-see. $25

Legendary filmmaker and film historian Peter Bogdanovich will be on hand, IN PERSON, presenting a 35mm double bill of the 45th Anniversary of "What's Up, Doc?" and the 25th Anniversary of "Noises Off!" Grab your tickets fast! Q&A will be held in between films by MiDNiTES FOR MANiACS' host Jesse Hawthorne Ficks and will explore Bogdanovich's everlasting love for Screwball Comedies and his very own brand of cinematic solace.
