The SF Sketchfest Dozen: The Next Wave of Stand-Up Comedy Stars
SF Sketchfest presents a pairing from a dozen hand-picked stand-up comedians on the rise: names you might not know now, but will be hearing a lot from soon.

Joel Kim Booster is a Chicago bred, Brooklyn based comedian, writer and playwright. Born in Seoul, South Korea, Joel was adopted at a young age and moved to the southwest suburbs of Chicago. Both homeschooled and evangelical, Joel has read the bible literally dozens of times, but has no idea where the state of Oregon is on a map. He was just listed as one of Brooklyn Magazine’s 50 funniest people and Paper Magazine recently called him one of their "10 Comedians You Need to Know," saying that if you like "cats, hot men, and insecurity, then you'll love Joel Kim Booster."

New-York based Marina Franklin is emerging as one of the hottest comedians in the comedy scene today, with such notable appearances as "Trainwreck," "Conan," and "Chappelle’s Show." She is a favorite in comedy festivals across the world, like Melbourne Comedy Festival, Scotland's Glasgow Comedy Festival, Montreal’s Just For Laughs, Ireland’s Kilkenny Comedy Festival, and Nashville’s Bonnaroo Music Festival. Franklin is viciously likeable, if there is such a thing.
