Josh Johnson
Josh Johnson, most recently featured on Kevin Hart's “Hart of the City” on Comedy Central, was named one of Comedy Central's Comics to Watch in 2015 and a ‘New Face’ at the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in 2016. Currently a writer for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and with a calendar filled with festivals and over 70+ college dates this year alone, he is quickly becoming one of the fastest rising stars of the year. A native of Louisiana and Chicago-bred comic, Josh has performed at festivals across the country such as Bridgetown, Out of Bounds, New York Comedy Festival, and Riot LA. Josh was a 2014 NBC Stand Up for Diversity semifinalist, and the 2015 winner of Snubfest in Chicago and the Devil Cup in New York.
In his one-man show Awkward Hugs With Beautiful Women, Josh weaves tales of his dating misadventures in a show the Chicago Tribune called both “honest” and “so sitcom-like in [its] implausibility that in several instances Johnson covers his own mouth in incredulity.”
Josh is a contributing writer for The Whiskey Journal and Empire News, and a former ensemble member of Under The Gun Theater in Chicago, where he also cofounded monthly comedy show The Attic. He currently lives in Brooklyn with his roommate’s dog.
“[Josh] Johnson is only 24 years old and probably shouldn’t be this good this soon.” - The Chicago Tribune
