Joe Lo Truglio

Beloved character actor Joe Lo Truglio has played fan favorite ‘Detective Charles Boyle’ for four seasons on FOX’s Golden Globe Award Best Comedy “Brooklyn Nine­Nine.”

Joe has also starred, for two seasons, on acclaimed Netflix comedy “Wet Hot American Summer,” as ‘Neil,’ a role he created as a member of legendary sketch comedy troupe The State. Additionally, Joe starred in the NBC series “Free Agents,” the Comedy Central series “Reno 911” and continues to recur on “Bob’s Burgers” (FOX) and “Drunk History” (Comedy Central).

Joe will next be seen in the Netflix feature film “A Futile & Stupid Gesture,” directed by frequent collaborator David Wain and starring opposite Will Forte & Joel McHale.

Joe Lo Truglio is an actor, producer and writer who has bowled over audiences with a string of standout roles in landmark films including: “Wet Hot American Summer,” “The Ten,” “Superbad,” “Pineapple Express,” “Role Models,” “I Love You Man,” “Wreck­It Ralph,” “Pitch Perfect” and “High Road.” His feature films have achieved major box office success in the U.S. and abroad. Joe has also produced and starred in two hit digital series with “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” head writer A.D. Miles ­ “Horrible People” and “Hot Sluts,” which he co­wrote as well. In addition to these films, he has lent his voice to many national commercial campaigns. Joe wrote, co­produced and co­starred in the new Paramount Digital/Abominable Pictures digital series “Beef,” alongside a legion of comedy stars.

Joe is a founding member of legendary sketch comedy troupe The State, with whom he continues to work. In addition, he was a regular performer with cult comedy group Stella, working alongside Michael Ian­Black, David Wain and Michael Showalter. Joe starred in season 2 of the hit Ken Marino/Erica Oyama Marino­created digital comedy “Burning Love,” one of the most successful series in Yahoo! history.

Joe reunited with his “Superbad” director Greg Mottola for the science fiction comedy hit “Paul,” working with Seth Rogen, Sigourney Weaver, Simon Pegg, Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader. Joe also starred in the David Wain­directed, Judd Apatow­produced comedy “Wanderlust,” opposite Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd, and Justin Theroux. Other films include: “Queens of Country,” opposite Lizzy Caplan and Ron Livingston; “Someone Marry Barry,” with Lucy Punch and Tyler Labine; “Claire’s Cambodia,” produced by legendary writer/director Billy Ray; and “Knight of Cups,” directed by Terrence Malick.
