James Acaster

James Acaster is one of the most brilliant and distinctive young comedians of his generation. A whimsical master, he has received acclaim from around the world, including a record breaking 5 consecutive nominations for ‘Best Comedy Show’ at the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals and winning the 2015 Chortle Award for Best Show, and Best International Show Award at the 2014 New Zealand International Comedy Festival. Following his return from another sell-out run at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, James is currently embarking on his 6th national tour with his show ‘Reset’ which will culminate at the impressive Lyric Theatre in London’s West End this December.

As well as his glowing stand-up career, James has made several television and radio appearances including a regular guest spot on fellow comic Josh Widdicombe’s Radio X show and writing and presenting his own show ‘Finding’s’ for BBC Radio 4. On the small screen James has graced the likes of; ‘Live At The Apollo’ (BBC) ‘8 Out Of 10 Cats’ (Channel 4), ‘Nevermind The Buzzcocks’ (BBC), ‘Mock The Week’ (BBC), ‘The John Bishop Show’ (BBC), ‘Russell Howards Good News’ (BBC Three), ‘Alan Davies As Yet Untitled’ (Dave), and ‘Live at The Comedy Store’ (Comedy Central) to name a few. As an actor James has popped up in BBC Three’s ‘Josh’ by fellow comic and most recently, James has completed two of his own television projects including15-part music show, ‘Sounds Random’ which is currently available to stream on BBC Three and his very own sitcom pilot ‘We The Jury’ based on his 2015 solo stand-up show, ‘Represent’ which aired this autumn on BBC Two. Looking into 2017 James already has a number of new and exciting projects in development, with invitations flying in from the States, more exciting writing opportunities and a big screen venture too!
